Nanna’s Story

As a child I spent most of my weekends with my Nanna. One of my fondest memories is my very own Nanna’s Pantry. This was a shop I set up each weekend in the house which offered all the stocks that were held in my Nanna’s kitchen and laundry. Each weekend I would stock the shelves of my makeshift shop with all the items I could reach and carry from my Nanna’s kitchen. When fully stocked I would open my shop to my customer. My Nanna would patiently wander around her living room with basket in hand, collecting her weekly shopping, paying with Monopoly money and coins and later home made credit cards. As I grew, so did the shop, a weekend would start with me baking and cooking to add to my shop stock.

To this day I recall my Nanna saying how excited she would be to see me in my very own shop. It has taken a few years and a move to Nannup to enable this childhood dream to be fulfilled.

I hope you enjoy Nanna’s Pantry as much as I know she did.
